Security guard uniform and kit

Security uniform has a clear convention in the UK: black, smart, SECURITY visible from behind, licence visible from the front. Here is the kit, in the order most firms issue it.

| Bomber jacket | Black, waterproof, quilted, reflective tape, epaulettes, ID window, radio loop; SECURITY printed on the back |
| Polo or t-shirt | Black, company name on chest, SECURITY on back; two or three per guard |
| Trousers | Black combat or plain work trousers with a crease; cargo pockets for a torch and notebook |
| Footwear | Black boots or shoes, non-slip; S1P if the site has debris |
| Hi-vis | Yellow or orange vest for traffic, car park and event roles; some firms use black vests with reflective tape |
| Accessories | SIA badge holder (armband or lanyard), belt, torch holder, gloves |
