Print or embroidery for your workwear logo?
By Workrig team · Updated 2026-11-01
Both last, both look professional, and the choice comes down to the garment and the design.
Choose embroidery when
- The logo goes on the chest of a polo, fleece, softshell or jacket.
- You want the premium, stitched look clients associate with uniform.
- The design is simple: text, a shape, up to five or six colours, no gradients.
- The garment will be washed hundreds of times; embroidery outlasts the fabric.
Choose print when
- The design is large (a full back), detailed, photographic or uses gradients.
- The garment is a t-shirt, hoodie, hi-vis vest or thin fabric where embroidery would pucker.
- The item is waterproof (needle holes compromise membranes).
- You need it fast or in small numbers; there is no digitising step.
Cost
At Workrig both cost the same per position (£15 for one, £20 for two, £25 for three, £30 for four) with bulk discounts from 10 items. Embroidery of a new logo involves a one-off digitising step, which we do free.
The usual answer
Embroidered chest, printed back. That gives the premium look where it is seen up close and full-colour impact where it is seen from behind.
